30 Sep Cruising, Nominations, and Animal Rescue

I hope you’re easing out of summer nicely. I had my final little summer getaway a couple weeks ago and went on my first cruise! It was actually a dance cruise, so I was working a bit as well, but it was definitely the perfect short weekend retreat to Ensenada, Mexico and back. In career news, I’m so excited to announce that I have been nominated for a World Choreography Award for my work on Sense8! Eeeeeeek! Lol, pardon my squeal. It was announced in Hollywood Reporter, and I’m up against such incredible choreographers working for outstanding films, so whatever the outcome, I feel so blessed and grateful just to be nominated. Some of my competition includes Mandy Moore for La La Land and Kenny Ortega and Tony Testa for The Rocky Horror Picture Show to name a couple, and the awards will take place on October 23 at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills. To finish up, I wanted to share an amazing fundraising event that came to my attention recently. As you may or may not know, I freaking love animals, so when my friend and fellow actor, Stephanie Fodor, contacted me to volunteer for Race for the Rescues on October 14, I was all for it! This is a huge annual animal race event held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to raise money for 27 local animal rescue businesses, and I will be teaching a mini Salsa class to help energize the racers and spectators. Whether you want to run, walk, shop, or adopt, there is something for everyone and it’s for an amazing cause. Jane Lynch will be there as the MC and over 2,000 people attend, so hopefully you can join.
